I agree with the article “The Texas Unmiracle” by the critic Paul Krugman at New York Times columnist. In the article the author makes an interesting point to show us how Perry’s bragging is untrue and a myth. It’s true when the author argument that much of the growth in jobs has come from public sector jobs, which is tied to population growth, not the private sector jobs touted by Perry. With the rapid rise in population, local governments have had to hire more public sectors employees, such as teachers, police officers and public sanitation workers to serve the needs of all the new communities cropping up in Texas. In reality, some of the job growth has come from high gas prices that benefit the oil and gas industry in Texas. Obviously, the government of Texas does not deserve credit for bragging about high prices of oil in Texas, when we are in fact sufficient in nature gas resources.
However, some of those jobs are created with the federal government stimulus bill. The jobs were created by the government action and no by government involvement. It’s become question when Rick Perry uses the federal stimulus in creates jobs to brag about his own effort as a government in Texas. Perry’s use the stimulus and in another hand has been critical the federal government.
So what we need to know as a Texans that Mr. Perry will claim that he can restore a national by using the Texas miracle myth.
